Investigations on sexual penetration, at New Spain community in Lunsar, Port Loko District, have proved that, on Monday 13th April 2020, at around 8:00 pm, one Alimamy Kargbo, a 50 years old man, took the minor, Isatu B. Kamara, to an unfinished house where he sexually penetrated and abused her.
This was disclosed by one of the leading Human Rights Organizations in Port Loko District, the Amazonian Initiative Movement in Sierra Leone (AIM-SL).
According to one of the staffs of AIM-SL, after the accused, Alimamy Kargbo, had penetrated the minor, he threatened to kill her if she explained to anyone about what had happened between.
The matter, according to AIM-SL, was reported to the Lunsar Police Station, where a medical report also proved that, indeed, the minor was sexually penetrated and abused.
The report informs that the caregiver of the victim is a poor woman who has been reportedly taking loans from neighbors to travel with her child’s medical checkup. The caregiver said that she could not even access the drugs prescribed by the doctors up to now.
Engaging the FSU officers, according to AIM-SL, the police said the perpetrator absconded in Lunsar, but, because of the proactive stance of the Force for Good in Lunsar, the culprit has been apprehended at Rutile and he is currently under police custody.
The Police, in Lunsar, informed AIM-SL that the perpetrator will be brought to Lunsar for questioning. However the police in Lunsar are constrained in finding a vehicle to facilitate the movement of the alleged culprit from Rutile to Lunsar.
The Police assured the victim of the family and organization that, when the perpetrator is brought to Lunsar, the matter will be speedily investigated and possibly charge the allege culprit to court.
The Police however warned men taking advantage of the current situation to stop abusing women and girls, or they will face the full wrath of the law.
